It’s officially spooky season, and Blizzard is here to help ring it in! The developers have begun the World of Warcraft: Classic version of the Halloween-inspired Hallow’s End event!

"Observed by both the Horde and the Alliance, Hallow's End is a celebration of the break between the Forsaken and the Scourge. Many tricks and treats await adventurers seeking holiday fun, including defeating the Headless Horseman, visiting inns and cities for fun items such as masks and costumes, and eating way too much candy in one sitting," reads the event's official description.

Hallow's End is the World of Warcraft holiday event and the lore is centered around the Forsaken celebrating their liberation from the Lich King's control. The undead set fire to a giant wicker statue and hear a speech from Lady Sylvanas to celebrate. Although the lore sort of only makes sense for the Foresaken, all races of both factions still celebrate the Hallow's End, simply so that there are holiday activities for everyone.

To be clear, this is for the Classic client, not the modern retail version. While both clients have the event active now, the Classic version is much more stripped back, and the two are different enough that you’d almost struggle to recognize it.

Then there's the 16-slot Pumpkin Bag item, which you can loot from any 50+ Undead mob, and Trick or Treating, which allows you to go to any inn, once per hour, and either get a costume (trick) or a goody bag with candy, Flimsy Masks, and Hallowed Wands (treat). There's also an apple-bobbing event at inns that can buff Stamina and Spirit, the Hallow's End Orphan Treats questline, and the Wickerman buff, which gives a 25% health regen, mana regen, and stamina buff for two hours.

Of course, there are also 21 achievements you can grab, as well as the achievement to grab the Hallowed title. If you’re after the meta-achievement for completing all the major holidays, make sure you grab this, or it’ll be a whole year until you can do it again!
