While EA has stated those that purchase Madden NFL 21 on current generation console will receive a free upgrade to the next generation version, no date was given. Many have assumed it would launch with the new systems, but EA was mum on that. EA announced that Madden NFL 21 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X on December 4. With new Haptic Feedback, an immersive on-field experience, more fluid player movement and stat replication, there looks to be quite the upgrade for the game.
That’s a little less than a month after the consoles hit retailers on November 10 (Xbox) and 12 (PS5), but it’s just in time for the Christmas season. At this point, the consoles are sold out and most retailers say they don’t know when they will have any pre-orders available, and there is also no information on when the stock will be replenished after the initial release.
Players will have to wait a little longer after consoles launch to get access to next-gen editions of Madden NFL 21. EA has revealed that both games will arrive on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on December 4, three weeks after the consoles officially launch. The move means users will have to make do with the current versions of the titles that released earlier this year. Unfortunately, the company did not go into details about what players can expect in terms of enhancements from the games. EA simply stated that fans will experience much faster load times and graphical improvements. That means players will have to wait a little longer to see the next-gen games in action for the first time.
EA has also announced that all previous Franchise and Face of the Franchise saves that were saved via the cloud can be transferred over. Offline saves, however, cannot be transferred. EA says more announcements will come over the next few weeks.
