Patches for MMORPGs like Neverwinter are very important, as they let players know exactly what is being fixed, and often times why they’re being fixed. The latest Neverwinter patch though, titled Version: NW.1337.20170401ϕ.42 may be one of the strangest updates in the games history, as it adds a very curious new class, as well as a series of changes that could quite possibly change the game forever.
Finally, the biggest change is the arrival of the Developer Class. As a Developer, you’ll get to wander through the Neverwinter world with your teammates, make the world as you see fit, and make decisions that you and you alone can justify, and your team will have to go with. Plus, via Blinders, they’ll be able to ignore damage for a time.
They’ll be able to have such abilities as Juggling, Working As Intended, Pest Control, Burning The Midnight Oil, Paranoia, All Eyes On You, Patchmaker, and more! Plus, they’ll be able to use gear like the Nerf Bat and the Decanter of Endless Coffee!!!
Then, there’s the “fact” that the classes in the game are “too balanced.” The Neverwinter team are “working hard” to fix this issue, because as we all know, if there is perfect balance, then the players have nothing to talk about. The team is concerned about such a possibility, thus, nerfs are coming.
A new update is coming to Neverwinter, and as such, the team behind the game has released a new set of Patch Notes to detail what they will be updating, tweaking, fixing, or balancing. There are a slew of changes coming, and here are the highlights.
First off, the early parts of the game are being changed a bit. Mainly, once you leave Sleeping Dragon Bridge, you’ll now be greeted by Sergeant Knox, and given items and clothing that are going to be much more useful than the previous set of items you were given at that point in the game.
Also, the new build is adjusting and balancing the Devoted Cleric. So much so that he will be getting a respec as a result of the changes. So be on the lookout for that. The main change to the Devoted Cleric is that a lot of his abilities will have their power increased, many by as much as 30%. The rest of the changes deal with his abilities and the effects that they do.
Other classes of characters have had changes as well, including the Oathbound Paladin, the Hunter Ranger, the Guardian Fighter, and Great Weapon Fighter.
Further adjustments were made, including fixing certain issues with the stability of Neverwinter. For example, a certain command line was removed from the game because it accidentally made it so players couldn’t log in.
The team also acknowledges that there are some issues in the game, both big and small, that they have yet to fix. They are aware of them and hope to have them fixed soon.Be sure to check out the full Patch Notes to see the full changes to Neverwinter, as some of them might affect your character.
