The Home Depot plans to hire more than 400 workers for its distribution centers scattered throughout the Inland Empire.

According to a release the retailer is adding the positions to keep up with urgent needs from homeowners like hot water heaters refrigerators and freezers cleaning supplies electrical and plumbing repairs and harsh weather items like tarps propane and batteries.

Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement retailer with more than 400,000 workers and 2,293 retail stores in all 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico U.S. Virgin Islands Guam 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.

Last month Home Depot reported sales of $38.1 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2020 a 23.4% increase over the second quarter of fiscal 2019. Net earnings for the quarter were $4.3 billion up from $3.5 billion a year earlier.
