Although we’re only a little over a month since the official release of NBA 2K22, Season 1 has come to a close and fans can expect Season 2 to include plenty of new content and will reportedly be all about “building your empire”.

In Season 2 you become the hero, whether that means climbing the ladder to NBA stardom, running the streets, or building your dream team, NBA 2K22 wants you to channel your inner goat and become the next MJ. How? By building your empire and accumulating more fame and rewards as a result throughout the season.

NBA 2K22 Season 2 trailer, Signature Series II packs arrive
On Friday, October 22, 2K’s NBA 2K22 Season 2 launched, bringing all sorts of new content. The launch came complete with an official trailer (below) showing off MyTeam and MyCareer additions. Among those additions are new rewards for the various levels, and also the arrival of Signature Series II packs. We saw Signature Series 1 featuring LeBron James in MyTeam Season 1: Call to Ball.

The NBA 2K22 Soundtrack is getting a boost as well, with a dozen new songs from Columbia Records being added that feature artists like Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber, and Kendrick Lamar.

"Following the Halloween activities, be sure to check out the new excursion: Park After Dark coming later in Season 2! At a soon-to-be disclosed location, players can hoop, shuffle and rave in the desert," they wrote. "A variety of experiences will be made available for players, ranging from dunk contests to shootouts, plus 2v2 and 3v3 courts. Accessorize your wardrobe and pop under the blacklights with fun and crazy styles to make your game stand out even more."

They're also introducing a new Rebirth mechanic allowing you to start a new game with a major head start, which we have more details on here.

How to Unlock Rebirth on NBA 2K22

•     Find ATM near the 2K club.
•     New Gen: Complete 10 3v3 or 10 2v2 City games with a 90 overall rating or higher.
•     Current Gen: Complete 10 3v3 games once you reach 90 overall rating to earn Rebirth
•     Up to 30 Badge points on new-gen will be spendable and available for upgrades.
•     Up to 20 Badge points on current-gen will be spendable and available for upgrades.

Season Two Level Rewards, New Locker Codes available
The first Season 2 Locker Codes also arrived earlier on Friday. That code gives gamers a chance to get a free Signature Series II pack. Other possible prizes include five NBA 2K Tokens, a Diamond Shoe Boost, or Diamond Shoe Base.

To get one of these prizes, enter the Locker code “BUILD-YOUR-MYTEAM-EMPIRE” in the Community Hub area of the mode. You can also enter locker codes using NBA 2K’s mobile app.
