You'll need to find where the Diablo 2 Underground Passage is, fairly early in. The location pops up when you're looking for the Dark Wood and Tree of Inifus to recover a scroll. The problem is that you're given no information on where to look, or even what you're looking for. Aaand the maps are randomly generated so the underground passage will be in a slightly different place for everyone.
This guide will help players navigate their way to narrow down the location of the Underground Passage to complete the quest but progress their way throughout Act I of Diablo 2: Resurrected.
Diablo 2: Resurrected - Underground Passage Location
To get right to it, the entrance to the Underground Passage can be found in Stony Field, though its precise position will vary from player to player. Indeed, the maps in Diablo 2: Resurrected are randomly generated, which means that there is no single location where the Underground Passage is situated. As such, fans will simply need to wander around Stony Field until they come across the entrance.
After this, return to the Stony Field and search for the Cairn Stones. You will need to touch these in the correct sequence. This sequence is on the Scroll of Inifuss, so follow its instructions. Once this is done, a portal to Tristram will open. Go through it, and you will find Deckard Cain in the middle of the destroyed town. It’s very much worth saving him, since he will then identify items for free.
The second thing that will help you is that the Underground Passage entrance is always on the edge of the Stoney Field area. So find an outer wall and hug it all the way around until you see an entrance on the mini map. If you see any roads heading outwards, that can give you a clue as well.
Once players have located an entrance, head inside to find that the layout of the Underground Passage includes two levels. The first of these levels will continue the Search for Cain quest, taking players to the Dark Wood, while the other level contains plenty of loot to collect. Either way, both levels are worth exploring and one which players can return at a later point.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
